CHLOROSYSTEM Chlorine is the most common chemical used for disinfection. Chlorine disinfection is used in most industry sectors: water treatment, food industry, swimming pools, potable water. Chlorine is used in many forms, these include and are not limited to: chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide. When disinfecting with chlorine, both dissolved chlorine gas and other bi-products are present. ie. hypochlorite anions. For disinfection purposes we are concerned only with concentration or residual free chlorine, the chlorine that remains in the water after oxidation of the organic substances. Free chlorine is referred to as parts per million (ppm) or milligrammes per litre (mg/l). The level of free chlorine must be accurately maintained to not only disinfect effectively, but to remain within local authority restraints. CHLOROSYSTEM was introduced to control the amount of free chlorine in a range of 0-2 ppm. The system uses the amperometric analysing method which is well suited for continuous, automatic control, reducing maintenance to a simple periodic calibration check. The chlorosystem is a compact unit assembled on a backboard with standard overall dimensions of 800 mm x 600 mm. The chlorosystem comprises of: standard filter, active carbon filter (for calibration purpose), inter connecting pipe work, amperometric cell, MC-CL chemical dosing pump showing free chlorine in ppm / mg/l. This unit is conformed to CE rules.
